The DJI RS 4 Pro is a professional 3-axis camera gimbal designed for filmmakers, cinematographers, content creators, and production teams who need powerful stabilization for larger mirrorless and cinema camera setups. With a tested payload capacity of 4.5kg (10lbs) and a 20% increase in motor torque, the RS 4 Pro provides greater power and stability for demanding camera and lens combinations once properly balanced. Its carbon-fiber axis arms are designed to accommodate mainstream mirrorless and cinema camera configurations, giving creators more flexibility when building professional rigs.

The gimbal features 2nd-generation native vertical shooting, allowing users to switch from horizontal to vertical filming without requiring additional accessories. The redesigned horizontal plate can be released and secured into the vertical position, making portrait-oriented content faster and more convenient to capture. This is particularly useful for filmmakers and creators producing content for social media, short-form video, advertising, and other vertical formats.

For precise camera control, the RS 4 Pro supports dual Focus Pro Motors, allowing users to control both focus and zoom simultaneously. The joystick can be used for gimbal movement or lens zoom, while the control dial provides precise focus adjustment when paired with compatible Focus Pro equipment. This provides a more integrated approach to lens control and is particularly valuable for professional camera operators working with complex cinema setups.

The RS 4 Pro is also designed to integrate with DJI's professional focusing and transmission ecosystem. When paired with the appropriate DJI Focus Pro LiDAR, the system provides 76,800 ranging points and subject focusing at distances of up to 20 meters. It also supports the next-generation ActiveTrack Pro, helping maintain focus and tracking on moving subjects. With compatible accessories, the gimbal can integrate LiDAR focusing and DJI Transmission workflows for professional stabilization, monitoring, focusing, and control.

The stabilization system provides controlled movement across all three axes, with a maximum controlled rotation speed of 360°/s for pan, tilt, and roll. The pan axis offers 360° continuous rotation, while the roll axis provides a mechanical range of -95° to +240° and the tilt axis ranges from -112° to +214°. These movement capabilities give cinematographers the flexibility to create dynamic tracking shots, camera movements, low-angle compositions, and other professional filming techniques.

The RS 4 Pro uses a BG30 1950mAh LiPo 4S battery grip with up to 13 hours of runtime when the gimbal is balanced and stationary. A full charge takes approximately 1.5 hours when using a compatible 24W fast charger. For extended production sessions, the optional DJI RS BG70 High-Capacity Battery Grip can increase the total runtime to up to 29 hours under DJI's specified test conditions.

The gimbal provides a comprehensive professional interface with Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C charging, RSS camera control, focus motor connectivity, a video transmission/LiDAR port, NATO accessory ports, a cold shoe, and a 1/4"-20 mounting hole. The included extended grip/tripod and briefcase handle provide additional shooting configurations, while the Arca-Swiss/Manfrotto quick-release plate allows compatible cameras to be mounted efficiently.

The DJI RS 4 Pro is supplied with the gimbal, BG30 battery grip, quick-release plate, metal extended grip/tripod, briefcase handle, extended lens support, multi-camera control cable, USB-C charging cable, screw kit, and carrying case. The standalone version does not include the additional Ronin video transmitter and Focus Pro Motor supplied with certain combo packages, making it important to select the appropriate bundle according to your production requirements.
