Kingston XS2000 4TB Portable External SSD with USB-C, 2,000MB/s Speeds and IP55 Protection

High-Speed Portable Storage for Work and Entertainment

The Kingston XS2000 4TB Portable SSD combines high-speed data transfer with a compact, pocket-sized design. Built for professionals, content creators, gamers, and everyday users, it provides generous storage capacity for large files, high-resolution photos, video footage, software, and game libraries.

Using a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface, the XS2000 delivers sequential read and write speeds of up to 2,000MB/s when connected to compatible hardware. This helps speed up file transfers, backups, and supported editing workflows.

Generous 4TB Storage Capacity

With 4TB of storage, the XS2000 provides room for extensive digital libraries, project files, media collections, and backups. It is particularly useful for photographers, videographers, and other professionals who need to carry large amounts of data between locations without relying on bulky external drives.

USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Performance

The drive's USB Type-C connection supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, with rated sequential speeds of up to 2,000MB/s for both reading and writing. These performance levels depend on the connected device, port, cable, workload, and other system conditions.

For the best performance, connect the SSD to a host device that supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2. It can also work with compatible USB connections that offer lower speeds, but transfer performance may be reduced.

Compact and Lightweight Design

Measuring approximately 69.54 × 32.58 × 13.5mm and weighing just 28.9g, the XS2000 is designed for convenient portability. Its small form factor makes it easy to carry in a pocket, backpack, or laptop bag, making it suitable for mobile work and travel.

IP55 Water and Dust Resistance

The XS2000 includes a removable ruggedised rubber sleeve that provides additional protection against everyday handling and drops. With its IP55 rating, the drive is tested for resistance to limited dust ingress and water jets under specified conditions. Kingston also specifies drop protection of up to 1.8 metres with the included sleeve.

These protective features make the SSD a practical option for fieldwork, travel, and on-location content creation. It should not be treated as waterproof or used submerged in water.

Broad Device Compatibility

The XS2000 supports compatible systems running Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, and iOS/iPadOS, as well as supported gaming consoles. Its USB-C connection provides a convenient way to move files between compatible devices.

Compatibility and achievable transfer speeds depend on the host device's hardware and software. Some smartphones and tablets may require a compatible USB OTG adapter or cable that is not included.

Bus-Powered Convenience

The XS2000 draws power through its USB connection, so it does not require a separate power adapter. The compact, cable-connected design helps reduce clutter when backing up files, transferring media, or expanding portable storage.

Ideal for Creators, Professionals, and Gamers

Whether you are backing up important documents, transferring large video projects, carrying a game collection, or expanding your portable workspace, the Kingston XS2000 4TB offers a balance of speed, capacity, and durability in a lightweight external SSD.
